Originally from the so-called Queen's Chamber in the Minoan Palace at Knossos on Crete (c. 1500 BC), this fresco celebrates the sea with a harmonious image of dolphins and fish swimming through the ocean. The Minoans were a seafaring culture from the islands of Thera and Crete. They left behind richly decorated frescoes in their homes when their civilization vanished, apparently by the eruption of a nearby volcano.
This fresco is reproduced with a hand painted, aged appearance on a wood surface with brilliant blue fresco hues. Ready to hang, imported from Greece, 8"H x 12"W x .5"D.
