Minoan Boxing Children Fresco

Round one.......fight! The Minoans were a seafaring culture from the islands of Thera and Crete. They left behind richly decorated frescoes in their homes when their civilization vanished, apparently by the eruption of a nearby volcano. This fresco of Young Boxers is from the island of Thera (ca. 1550 BC). It represents the oldest known portrayal of a boxing sport, complete with gloves.
