Medieval tapestry reproduction illustrating Lady with Unicorn: Sight. This reproduction of a medieval tapestry is one in a series probably commissioned for Anne of Brittany, the young widow of the French king Charles VIII, to celebrate her marriage to Louis XII of France on January 8, 1499. Several of the tapestries in the series emphasize the senses; in this example, sight is referenced by the unicorn’s reflection in the looking-glass. Made from wool / cotton, imported from Europe, ready to hang, included hanging rod and screws, 38"H x 44"W.
