This Lady and Unicorn Tapestry Touch reproduction of a medieval tapestry is one in a series probably commissioned for Anne of Brittany, the young widow of the French king Charles VIII, to celebrate her marriage to Louis XII of France on January 8, 1499. Several of the tapestries in the series emphasis the senses. In this example, touch is referenced by the Lady’s grasp of the unicorn’s horn. This tapestry is found in the Cluny Museum, Paris. Made from cotton, imported from Europe, includes hanging rod and screws, ready to hang, 38"H x 44"W.
