This tapestry is a Tribute to Women by William Morris with its idealized personifications of the virtues of women: Courage, Caring, Love, Wisdom, and Fidelity. During a period of global industrialization and mass production at the turn of the 20th century, William Morris advocated a return to objects and decor in the home which was not mass-produced. His influence is known as the Arts and Crafts movement. Made from wool and cotton, imported from Europe, 37"H x 53"W. (hanging rod not included).
