This wall hanging of the Minoans were a seafaring culture from the islands of Thera and Crete. They left behind richly decorated frescoes in their homes when their civilization vanished, apparently by the eruption of a nearby volcano. This fresco--from the Palace of Knossos on Crete (ca. 1500 BC)--is reproduced here with hand painted color on a special plaster-mix over a wood board. It has an aged appearance with surface cracks and brilliant blue fresco hues.
Ready to hang, imported from Greece, 20"W x 14"H x 0.5"D.
