Adapted from the Claude Monet masterpiece Japanese Bridge, Green Harmony , 1899 (Bassin aux nympheas, harmonie verte) now in the collection of the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. In this study of a Japanese bridge from Monet's garden, the painter studies the subtle shades of blue and green emanating from the lush garden setting. Impressionist were impressed and influenced by newly introduced exports of Japanese artists and goods. They appreciated their bold color use and cleanly designed composition.
