Tapestry reproduction illustrating Lady with Unicorn: Hearing (also known as Lady with Organ and La Dame a la Licorne 'L'Ouie'), c. 1490. The sense of taste is depicted by the lady taking a sweetmeat, a medieval delicacy, from the dish offered to her by the maidservant. The monkey at the base is popping a sweetmeat into his mouth, thus completing the gesture and confirming the interpretation. The original was woven in Flanders in the late 15th century and is currently on display in the Cluny Museum, Paris.
Made from fine grade woven wool, imported from Europe, superior quality.
