From an original by William Morris (1836-1896), British artist and designer. The theme is the Quest for the Unicorn by the legendary twenty-four Knights of King Arthur, the ancient English King. The lion represents the most courageous knights who, having hung their shields in the woods, have departed on their mission to seek the Unicorn, a mythical creature of the middle ages. Woven tapestry made from wool, lined backing, imported from Europe, includes hanging rod and hardware, and measures 3feet H x 5feetW. Also available in 4foot 3"H x 6foot 7"W.
