This early 19th century relief of Apollo and Muses in a processional dance by Bertel Thorwaldsen is from the Thorwaldsen Museum in Copenhagen. It illustrates Apollo at left with his lyre and the Muses at right accompanying him with instruments and dance. As part of the Neoclassical art movement, this artist celebrates Greco-Roman tradition by illustrating a mythological theme and the human form with ideal proportions.
