The Goddess Maat personifies cosmic harmony including truth, justice, law, world order and moral integrity. It is said that in the judgment of the dead she holds the scales which weigh the human heart. Here two representations of Maat flank a clock and preside over the cosmic order of the hours in the day. With wings outstretched, they gracefully frame the clock which has a beautiful geometric design and simplified Egyptian marks to show the hours. Maat stands on a traditional Egyptian raft with intricate color details on the base. The whole ensemble is further enriched by a bronze finish base with a lotus flower pattern.
