Van Gogh (here in a self portrait), whose life has become a legend, was a schoolmaster in England, a missionary to the miners in Belgium, and finally, in 1880, an artist. After his contact with other painters in Paris, his style changed radically to the brilliant color and thick, swirling brushwork of his Arles period. A violent quarrel with Gauguin precipitated his first attack of madness in which he cut of part of his ear. Of the hundreds of paintings he created, he was only able to sell one during his lifetime. Our Unisex watch has a gold rim, 1.25" diameter face, stainless steel case, solid mineral glass, leather band, 1-year warranty, gift case, 1.25"W x 9.25 "L x .25"D.
