Dinosaur bones are some of the most fascinating evidence of what the world was like many millions of years ago. One species, Velociraptor, is brought to life here in this museum statue reproduction. Well known because of its leading role in a famous novel and movie from the 1990s, this fierce beast was a fearsome predator. Our reproduction offers a lifelike representation of the dinosaur in full stride walking across a rocky terrain with green vegetation. The green stripes across his body remind one of a lizard's markings.
Velociraptor lived during the Cretaceous period and were characterized as being the smallest type of raptor. Adults measured up to six feet long by two feet high at the hip and weighed up to 45 lbs. Their name means "Speedy Thief" and they were quick and agile at jumping, running and hunting. Velociraptors were carnivores with eighty powerful razor sharp teeth and a flat snout, and a distinctive claw on the second digit. This claw has been traditionally depicted as a slashing weapon used to cut and disembowel prey.
Our velociraptor statue replica is made from cold cast bronze resin mix with green color details, 4.5"H x 8.75"L x 3.25"W. It will delight a budding Paleontologist in your household!
