St. Paul's Cathedral Bookends
Cathedral of the Diocese of London

The current cathedral (St Paul's Cathedral of the Diocese of London, ca. 1675-1710, architect Sir Christopher Wren) is actually the fourth structure to occupy the site. Its predecessor was destroyed in the great fire of London. The first cathedral was constructed in 604 A.D.

Dedicated to St. Paul, the cathedral reflects not only the importance of spirituality, but it illustrates the determination of the five monarchs who oversaw its construction that London's leading church should be as beautiful and imposing as the private palaces throughout the empire. Important services have included the funerals of Lord Nelson, The Duke of Wellington, Sir Winston Churchill and Princess Diana, the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, Jubilee celebrations for Queen Victoria, King George V and the Golden Jubilee of her majesty the Queen.

These bookends are made from antiqued resin and measure 4"L x 4"W x 7"H / each.
