Christ The Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) is one of the world's most recognizable statues. Located in the Corcovado Mountains, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, the statue stands 125 feet high and weighs 1,145 tons. Construction began in 1926 and was completed in 1931. The arm's of Jesus are outstretched to a span of 92 feet, welcoming all who will come. The statue is located within the Tijuca National Park, high atop the 2,330 ft. peak of Corcovado Mountain (Hunchback Mountain) and is accessed by train, offering a breath-taking view of Rio.
Visitors can climb the 222 steps up to the base of the statue, or take an elevator which was added in 2002.
These bookends are made of a compound resin and measure 4"L x 4"W x 7.5"H.
