Unanimously revered during his lifetime as one of history's great heroes, Napoleon revolutionized military organization and training; sponsored the Napoleonic Code; the prototype of later civil-law codes; reorganized education; and established the long-lived Concordat with the papacy. This sculpture of Napoleon Riding is adapted from a Neoclassical portrait painting by Jacques-Louis David. It illustrates Napoleon on horseback leading his troops across the Alps.

Made from bonded bronze, muted color details, 11"H.
