Michelangelo himself (1475-1564) was a prolific artist whose masterpieces are evidence of the Renaissance artist's renewed interest in Classical Greek sculpture, Humanism, and Neo-Platonism. Here Michelangelo is shown working on an unfinished work. It is said that Michelangelo worked on his sculptures from front to back, as opposed to working around the sculpture. Made from bonded marble, black marble base, imported from Italy, 12"H x 7"W x 3.5"L.
