Part of the legacy of the Roman Empire Gladiator Wrestling Lion is the Romans' fondness for entertainment and spectacle. No where is this interest more evident than in the gladiatorial games. This sculpture recreates the contest between a gladiator and a lion in which the gladiator seems to be on the verge of victory. Their finely toned bodies are a testament to the intensity of their challenge.
Made from bonded white cararra marble and base, imported from Italy, 11"H x 9"L x 5"W.
