Cafe Terrace at Night by Van Gogh Silk Scarf is reproduced from a well known painting by Vincent Van Gogh painted during his time spent painting with Post-Impressionist, Paul Gauguin.
When Gauguin arrived in Arles, Van Gogh insisted they paint outside as often as weather allowed. Cafe Terrace at Night is an example of what van Gogh referred to as 'painting in the natural state'. The thick and sketchy brush strokes evoke a raw, unrefined interpretation of the cafe setting. This method of painting along with his vibrant selection of colors in red, orange, yellow and green captures a particular mood about the setting and has become Van Gogh's legacy and trademark.
Cafe Terrace at Night Scarf by Van Gogh is made from boutique quality silk, 35"H x 35"W square, with a hand rolled edge.
