Rome, Italy. Built in 82 A.D. by the emperors Vespasian, Titus, and Domitian. The Coliseum exemplifies a complex elliptical design which had to be worked out mathematically, with room for 50,000 spectators. It housed such public events as gladiator fights, mock naval battles, wild animal hunts, and chariot races. Also known as the Flavian Amphitheater. Made from resin, antique finish, 6.5"H x 5"W x 3.5"D each.
