Moscow, Russia. A collection of fine books deserves fine bookends to complement it! These "Red Square's St. Basil Cathedral Bookends" reproduce the original in Russia built between 1555 and 1561 by Postnik Yakovlev and commissioned by Ivan the Terrible to commemorate his successful military campaign against the Tartar Mongols in 1552 in the besieged city of Kazan. Legend has it that upon completion of the cathedral, Ivan the Terrible ordered the architect to be blinded in an attempt to prevent him from ever creating anything to rival the beauty of St. Basil Cathedral.

Made from resin, antiqued finish, 7.25"H x 4"W x 4"D each.
