Chinese Xian Warrior Horse Terracotta Statue from Royal Tomb
In 1975, archeologists uncovered an immense underground mausoleum commissioned by the first emperor of China, Shi-huangdi, from the Qin era. It quickly became one of the greatest archeological finds ever as it contained eight thousand earthenware life-size figures of men and horses, with their chariots, each individually fashioned. The warriors and horses had been placed in a military formation ready for battle to protect their leader. The tomb is located at Lintong, near the city of Xi-an in Shaanxi Province. Our reproduction of a warrior horse is made from terracotta with an antiqued finish, imported from China, 6"H x 2.25"W x 10"L.
