The original Pharaohs' Lifesize Coronation Golden Throne from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo is adorned with gold and precious stones. The chair in ancient Egypt was a symbol of authority and prestige. It was found beneath the Ammut couch in the Antechamber, during the excavation of King Tut's Tomb in 1922 by the Earl of Carnarvon and Howard Carter. The throne bears Tut's full name Tutankhamun. Depicted on the backrest is an illustration of an intimate domestic scene of the young royal couple. Here the queen anoints her husband with perfume. The animal legs are a type which goes back to the beginning of Egyptian furniture design. Our reproduction is made from a wood frame with resin and painted with multicolor details. Measures 42"H and weighs 100 lbs.
