The Post-Impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) is legendary for his heavy impasto application of paint, brilliant colors, and vibrant swirling brush strokes. His every canvas expresses his opinion about Impressionism; unfortunately the style did not provide the artist with enough freedom to express his emotions. Reviving the 17th-century English tradition of painting on enamel, this miniature teapot has a reproduction of Van Gogh's "Night Cafe" from the late 19th century. Made from porcelain, hand painted enamel on all sides, hinged lid, decorative use only, approximately 4"H x 3"W.
