ABOUT SISYPHUS IN GREEK MYTHOLOGY:
Sisyphus was the founder of
Corinth and one of the most crafty and deceitful characters in Greek
mythology. He violated the laws of hospitality, seduced his niece, took
his brother's throne, betrayed Zeus' secrets, tricked and chained the
god of death, and escaped the underworld through his trickery. For his
crimes against the Gods, Sisyphus was severely punished, condemned for all eternity to roll a boulder uphill only to watch it roll back down again.
His perpetual action is called a "Sisyphean task" or "Sisyphean challenge".
