The Post-Impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) is legendary for his heavy impasto application of paint, brilliant colors, and vibrant swirling brush strokes. His every canvas expresses his opinion about Impressionism; unfortunately the style did not provide the artist with enough freedom to express his emotions.
This stained glass is an adaptation of his painting Bank of the Oise at Auvers from 1890 in the collection at the Detroit Institute of Arts. It is a study of the leisure activities of the Parisian bourgeoisie who enjoyed weekend trips to the river bank at Oise, a tributary of the Seine River.
Made from kiln-fired stained glass (guaranteed to never fade), metal frame, hanging chain, acrylic stand, made in USA, estimated size 13"H x 9.25"W.
NOTE: From the now retired Glassmasters Collection. We only have a few left. Once sold, the item is retired.
