La bohème is Puccini's most famous and popular opera as well as one of the most performed stage operas in the standard operatic repertoire. It is here interpreted as The Catopolitan Opera by Susan Herbert with cats in costume of the leading roles. The comedy and drama of four young struggling artists, and the love between Rodolfo (a starving poet) and Mimi (a beautiful seamstress) is filled with romantic music, poignant emotion and an enduring, youthful spirit. The four friends (poet, composer, painter, and philosopher) and their neighbor, Mimi, have an evening out at the Cafe Momus. At center is the leading lady in a pink dress and bonnet. Around her dashing male cats sit in full suit costume behind here in the cafe.
