Truth, Beauty, Keats, and Townley
|
"I purchased one of these urns about a decade ago through some museum catalog or other. It served as a focal point in my teaching studio up until last month when I dropped it while dusting. Ooops.
I have used it over the years to introduce students to poetry and to show the development of talent: the different parts of the vase are pretty obviously done by different artisans -- the figures by the master, the hashing around the handles likely by a younger apprentice. It's also great as place to stash my lesson fees during the day.
I have to buy another, as this urn is too simply beautiful to do without. I appreciate the neutral palate, which can fit into any spot without overpowering the environs. It is a superb place to start a collection of artworks: the quality is high and the price is more than reasonable." -- Posted by Marty Heresniak
