Ceramic Flower Vase with Strawberry Thief 1883 textile pattern by artist William Morris (1834-1896). William Morris created repeating pattern designs for curtains, drapes and textiles in an attempt to bring back handcrafted items as part of the Arts and Crafts Movement.

Strawberry Thief -- where thrush birds are found stealing strawberries from his garden -- proved to be one of his most popular patterns. The design has a black background with red, yellow, blue and green evenly coloring the continuous pattern.

  • Art vase is made from kiln-fired ceramic, color and gloss finish. (PN SDA40)
  • Shape is oval.
  • Measures 8.75 in H x 4.25 in W x 2.6 in D. Weight 1.75 lbs.

This vase is part of an art vase collection called Silhouette d'Art. It is crafted from fine ceramic and decorated with a famous masterpiece painting. Vases are a cooperative effort between two European fine art manufacturers -- Parastone, a Dutch Art Company, and John Beswick, a British ceramic company. The famous art masterpieces are selected for their visual beauty and then applied to a special shaped vase design with a cut edge to enhance a design element from the painting.
