Reviving the 17th-century English tradition of painting on enamel, this miniature teapot has a reproduction of the Monet's Impressionist painting from the late 19th century of the Beach at St. Adresse outside of Paris. The Impressionist painters enjoyed painting leisure scenes outdoors "en plein air".

The term "impression" signified the sensory information registered on the retina prior to cogitation of any sort. Monet describes Impressionism: "When you go out to paint, try to forget what objects you have before you, a tree, a house, a field or whatever." Monet explained to an American neighbor in Giverny, "merely think here is a little square of blue, here an oblong of pink, here a streak of yellow, and paint it just as it looks to you, the exact color and shape, until it gives you your own naive impression of the scene before you."

For the past few years, these hightly collectible teapots have captured the hearts of collectors for their adorable hand painted and glazed details. They are signed as part of the Kelvin Chen collection of mini teapots. They pay tribute to masterpiece artists from the 19th and 20th century.

Made from porcelain, hand painted enamel on all sides, hinged lid, decorative use only, estimated 4"H.
